Publish

Your students’ writing, published

Publish takes your students’ stories, poems and articles from first draft to a finished anthology or class magazine. Students write and submit, you review and publish, and anyone with the link can read the result.

What it does

Students write, you edit

Each student drafts their piece and submits it when it is ready. You read it, send it back with notes, or move it on towards publication.

Issues and anthologies

Gather finished pieces into an issue, a termly magazine or an end-of-year anthology, sorted into categories such as poems, stories and reviews.

A reading page for families

Turn on the reading page and share its link: families read what you have published, with no account. Drafts and your notes are never shown.

How it works

  1. Set up your classroom

Sign up, then add your students on the People page or give them a join code.

  2. Start a publication

Name your anthology or magazine, and add your students as its writers.

  3. Share it

Review each piece, publish the ones that are ready, and share the reading page.

What it costs

Start on the free plan, with no card. A subscription to Publish is NZ$25 a month for your classroom.

Questions people ask

Do my students need accounts?

Yes. Each student has an account in your classroom, so they can write and submit their own work. Add them on the People page, or give them a join code.

Who can read what my students write?

Only you and the writer until you publish a piece. Once published, it is read in your classroom, and on the public reading page when you turn that on.

Can a student revise a piece I send back?

Yes. A piece you send back returns to its writer with your notes, and they can submit it again when it is ready.

Can I add more later?

Yes. Add another app, such as a portfolio of each student’s work, or the whole of MyTime when your school joins, and keep everything you already have.
