Analytics

Charts from the data your school already keeps

Analytics turns the files your school already has into charts and tables: attendance exports, markbooks, external assessments, surveys and more. Groups too small to stay anonymous are hidden, so a chart can be shared without identifying a student.

What it does

Upload what you have

Upload a spreadsheet, or a Word or PDF document with a table in it. Analytics works out what kind of data it is, lets you check the columns, and remembers them for the next file of that kind.

Analyses ready to run

Each dataset suggests the analyses that suit it, such as attendance bands, scores over time, gaps between groups and year on year. Export the results, or pin a chart to a dashboard.

Small groups stay hidden

Any figure covering fewer than five students is hidden, along with any second figure that would let someone work it out by subtraction: on screen, in exports and on dashboards. Your administrator can raise that minimum.

How it works

  1. Set up your school

Sign up, then add your leaders and your students on the People page, or send them a join link.

  2. Upload a file

Drop in an attendance export, a markbook or an assessment file, check that its columns look right, and save it.

  3. Chart it

Run the suggested analyses, open a student’s results over time, and pin the charts you need to a dashboard.

What it costs

Analytics is free on its own, with no card, for up to 30 people. Each app you add after it is $25 (NZD) a month, and each person beyond those 30 people is $2 (NZD) a month.

Questions people ask

Who can see the charts?

Your school’s staff and administrators. Students and families never see Analytics, and every figure it shows or exports hides groups too small to stay anonymous.

Do we need our timetable or our classes?

No. Analytics works from the files you upload, matched to your students by email, student number or name. Charting the attendance, behaviour and attainment kept in MyTime itself comes with the whole of MyTime.

Do our files need a special format?

No. Spreadsheets, and Word or PDF documents with a table in them, are read as they are. You check the columns before anything is saved, and a name that only nearly matches a student is linked only when you confirm it.

Can we add more later?

Yes. Add another app, such as connections that let your other systems read your class lists, or the whole of MyTime, and keep everything you already have.
